This work, a rare edition by Em Rooney, features a double exposure of a woman’s back with the ornate handles of a church door. Rooney’s photograph is a tribute to the famous Le Violon d'Ingres by Man Ray (1924) which was itself a tribute to Ingres. The edition carries these historical echoes and is embellished with pewter castings typical in Rooney’s work.
